What is Turris OS and who develops it?

What is Turris Sentinel?
Sentinel is the distributed threat-detection system built into Turris OS. Each Turris router contributes anonymously to a shared threat-intelligence network: when one router detects an attack, the information is distributed across the community to protect all users in real time.
What is the difference between Turris Omnia NG and Omnia NGW?
Turris Omnia NG includes a pre-installed tri-band Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be) card covering 6 GHz, 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz with 4×4 MIMO. Turris Omnia NGW uses the same hardware but has no pre-installed wireless card, making it ideal for dedicated access points such as Omada or UniFi.
Does Turris Omnia NG support internet connections above 1 Gbps?
Yes. Turris Omnia NG features a 2.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm IPQ9574 processor and two 10 Gbps SFP+ ports, providing native support for fibre connections above 1 Gbps. It can also be used as a NAS server, for lightweight virtualisation and to host home services.
Are Turris routers compatible with the main Italian ISPs?
Yes. Turris routers support the main connection methods (PPPoE, DHCP and GPON fibre via SFP) and are compatible with the leading Italian operators. The SFP+ ports on Turris Omnia NG and NGW allow direct connection to optical modems.
